What Size Banner Should I Get?

A popular question when people are looking to get banners is “what size banner should I get?” This question has multiple answers because it largely depends on the situation. Sure, you could get any size banner for any occasion, but some banner sizes just fit better with certain circumstances.

Retail Advertising Banner: If hanging this banner on the top portion of a retail store front, the banner should be around 8 feet in length. This makes it quick to spot but does not interfere with other locations. This is also a good size for locations where there are two poles or trees to tie to directly in front of the retail location.

If the banner is going to be used by a road, it is recommended that the banner size be slightly larger; somewhere around 12 feet. This allows for those passing by to view the banner without going out of their way to see it.

Welcome Home/Graduation Banner: These banners are typically smaller do to the fact that they are widely used at residential locations. The typical graduation banner will be around 2 ft. x 5.5 ft. If the graduating banner will be used in the actual school, banner size will usually be larger, ranging up to 12 ft. in length. The same applies for welcome home banners being used in a larger venue.

For Rent: The best size for a “For Rent” vinyl banner is around 10.5 ft. This is a great size because people passing by can easily see the information. If the banner will be further away from the road, it should be larger. The banner should not be too small or the information such as telephone number will not be visible to a wide range of people.
