Maintenance for Your Gator Board/Foam Board Signs

Like anything we invest our money into, we want our investment to last us as long as possible. Advertising tools are not exception. There are things you can do to maintain your gator board and foam board signs so you get the longest life out of them as possible.

Display Them Appropriately

When considering the place you want to display your foam board or gator board signs, consider if they will get damaged in that space as well. 

If you plan on displaying the foam board of gator board signs near wet areas where they continually get wet, they will not last as long and could potentially be ruined. Also pay attention to areas with extreme temperatures such as too hot of an area as well as too cold of an area. Both of these items can have an adverse effect on the lifespan of the sign including fading, chipping and becoming distorted.

Store Them Carefully

Find a storage place that will allow the foam board or gator board sign to stand upright without interference or lay down flat where there is no chance of something falling on it. This will help prevent piercings, discoloration, bending, breaking and more. You will also need to make sure the space is climate controlled to prevent eventual warping in high temperatures.

Clean Them Occasionally

Depending on how often you use them and what conditions they are in, you will more than likely need to only clean them occasionally. Cleaning your foam board or gator board sign is easy. All you need is a damp cloth. Make sure your cloth is lint free and does not contain an excessive amount of water. Gently wipe the foam board or gator board from top to bottom. You do not need to use excessive pressure.
